Came across this little tid bit while surfing the mighty web this morning. Seems Aerosmith guitarsit Joe Perry is telling everyone and his grandmother that they’ll be the lead band for Activision’s forthcoming Guitar Hero IV, to be released next year.

Here’s what he said:

“…Aerosmith is also working closely with the makers of “Guitar Hero IV,” which will be dedicated to the Boston group’s music. “I don’t know much about the technical part of it,” Perry says, “but artistically we’re working hand in hand.”

Hey way to go Guitar Hero! Way to headline your flagship with a band that hasn’t been relevant in fifteen years! While your at it, why not feature Dokken or Meatloaf! Who doesn’t want to shred to Dokken’s “Dream Warriors?”

Hmmm, let’s check the scorecard. Rock Band has the Who and Metallica and Guitar Hero has Aerosmith? I don’t know which is worse: Having Aerosmith headline Guitar Hero IV or paying six bucks for crappy DLC for Guitar Hero III? At this point, why don’t they just make a peripheral that charges you a buck to kick you in the nuts? Then at least you’d be getting your money’s worth.

Didn’t Guitar Hero already release their homage to the ’80’s?

Wanna pay for Guitar Hero IV to kick you in the nuts? Head over to our FORUMS and sound off!
