Hallelujah!

April 29th, 2008 · 12 Comments

As some of you may know, I have been without my 360 for just over a week due to the dreaded Red Rings of Death. It has been a sad time, a time to sit and look at the blank spot on my dresser in my room, in my parents house, while remembering better days.

Today, I got a phone call that changed all of that. (more…)

Swag Hunt: Kane And Lynch Edition!

November 14th, 2007 · 3 Comments

swag1.jpgWhen Eidos invited the guys and gals of the Gamercast Network to attend their pre-release Kane and Lynch Event, we were stoked. Originally Doc was the one visiting Eidos on behalf of Sarcastic Gamer. Due to scheduling conflicts, I was chosen to go in his place. Doc was really looking forward to going, so when he told me, I had to hold in my joy because I could see how upset he was that he didn’t get to go.

Find out how the trip went after the jump!

Say Hello To The Bad Guys.

1184275557_mid.jpgKane: Professional Killer. Lynch: Homicidal Maniac. They both love long walks on the beach and shooting people in the face.

Yeah, this isn’t a kids game. Kane and Lynch, is the new franchise from Eidos, and I got to get my hot hands on the single player storyline last week in San Francisco with the other members of the Gamercast Network.  Edios payed my full way there and back so I could bring to you, my look at the single player campaign, or at least the first four or five levels.

Why is it fun to be Kane or Lynch? You mean, besides the fact that they escape from prison, rob a bank, have multiple shoot-outs with the cops, and have a total disregard for all authority. What else is there? There’s nothing like reliving movie moments like the street shoot-out in Heat and that, in a nut shell, is the appeal of Kane and Lynch.

Kane and Lynch and Lynch and Kane, we have all heard at least something about the game. There are the “no online coop” complaints and then there is the buzz over the multiplayer part of the game called Fragile Alliance. Well, lucky me, I got a chance to travel all the way to San Franscisco last week on Eidos’ dime to preview Kane and Lynch.  I’ll be writing about my experience all week.

First up: Kane and Lynch’s Multiplayer called Fragile Alliance.

Check out my hands-on impressions after the jump!

Kane & Lynch…and Dave?

November 7th, 2007 · 2 Comments

kl.jpg

I’m on my way to sunny San Francisco, California to hang out with Kane and Lynch. Well, not exactly, but I will be getting a chance to test drive the game before it comes out. The best part is that Eidos is paying for it. All of it. That’s a freebie-loving person’s wet dream.

Eidos’ hospitality not effect my journalistic integrity, because I don’t have any, although I promise to be fair and balanced. If it ends up being a Shadowrun lemon, I’ll call it just that.

As the Sarcastic Gamer representative to this event, I’ll also get to hang with the guys and gals from the other GCN sites. This will be the first time that anyone from here has physically met any of them, and I’m so pumped! I hope San Francisco can handle the coming of Dave!

Be sure you drop by on Monday for my comprehensive Kane and Lynch coverage and check out our Podcast for my interviews with the folks from Eidos, who hope Kane and Lynch will rock even harder than my podcast endings!

Manhunt 2: The Troubles Continue…

manhunt-2-appeal.jpgIt seems that I have been writing a lot about Manhunt 2 and the main reason is that it’s all over the news. You can’t turn on the TV or go to a website without hearing something about a controversy surrounding the game. With every news conglomerate secretly  banding together to bring about the down fall of the game, and video games in general, someone else has decided to jump on the f*** Manhunt 2 train.

Find out who, after the jump!

Microsoft Buys EA

November 2nd, 2007 · 1 Comment

bagofpennies.jpgMicrosoft has been a little down in the dumps since their split with Bungie. After being inactive for a few weeks, they decided they were ready to move on. While in their “rebound” phase, they decided to get a little slutty and went out to find someone new.

The Fanboy Bar Has Been Raised.

November 1st, 2007 · 12 Comments

pissed_sm.jpgSomewhere in Florida a “juvenile” boy took being a fanboy to a whole new level. On Sunday night he was playing Halo 3, I guess on XBL. His parents walked in and informed him that he has had enough for that day and that it was time to turn off the game. He refused, so the parents removed his wireless Internet adapter and hid it, and he went ballistic.

He began searching the house for the card. Somehow, during this search, I guess when his parents tried to calm him down, he punched his mom in the face. After this the parents had enough and instead of beating his little ass like they should have, they called the sheriff’s department. (more…)

MGS4 Delayed…Again

November 1st, 2007 · 5 Comments

Source PS3fanboy

mgs4_08.jpgPS3 owners were let down once again upon finding out that Konami has delayed Metal Gear Solid 4…for the second time. This is one of the [only?] exclusives for the PS3 that the console has that make others drool.

It was originally supposed to be out this Christmas, but was then pushed back to early 2008. Fine, a temporary set back. Now it has been pushed back to the second quarter of 2008.

There has never been a better time for a major release like this. The Ps3 is the cheapest it has ever been, and MSG fans are chomping at the bits to get their hands on this title.

The reason given for the delay was to provide ”greater enjoyment to players world wide.” WTF does that mean? Was there an aspect of the game that just wasn’t fun enough and it needed some work? Are they going multi-platform?

Stop crushing the hopes and dreams of the MSG faithful, Konami. We’re sensitive dammit!
