Microsoft Surface has been the topic of many a geek discussion, both in awe of, and in support of this new computing platform. Having accepted an invitation from the Surface team to come to Seattle and experience Surface computing for ourselves, Lono and I headed up in mid-December, courtesy of Microsoft. The Birth of the “Big Ass Table”

It started almost six months ago, on a lazy summer afternoon. I was bored and browsing YouTube when I came across the official trailer for “Microsoft Surface”. For some reason, as I was watching it I just starting making up new words for it.

Within a few hours, the damage was done, and Microsoft Surface got it’s new moniker, “The Big Ass Table.”The latter video went viral almost immediately, and before long, it went to number one on YouTube. Engadget, Gizmodo, CNN, and many others, kept the view counter rising. It was about this time, that I noticed in our traffic logs, that a disproportionate number of our visitors were coming out of Bellevue and Redmond, Washington, near Seattle.It just so happens that the Microsoft Surface team is also located in that same area. I must admit I was a little worried about what these people would think about the video, and what sort of high-end payback I ought to expect. But nothing happened. As you all know, Doc and I were flown out by Microsoft to see, in person, the Big Ass Table. We shot some video and were even given an opportunity to see some never-before-seen stuff, on the device. I really want a Microsoft Surface Computer.

Sadly, with my current rate of savings I won’t be able to afford the 10 grand sticker price until my kids are out of diapers and my wife and I are in them. So I decided to parody it instead. Hey! That’s fair!
